Natan Rok immigrated from Cuba in the 1950’s in response to the communist take-over and the ascension of Castro. Arriving in Miami with only the shirt on his back, speaking no English and without any understanding of America’s people or culture, he was determined to succeed in his newly adopted country. There was no obstacle that would keep him down and Mr. Rok knew that with hard work he would be successful. Mr. Rok started his real estate career in Downtown Miami, where he accomplished what everyone said was impossible. Interest Rates were high and the Downtown area was in chaos. Mr. Rok began buying properties on the sole basis of a handshake, exhibiting confidence and assurance to the seller that his debt would be repaid in full. Mr. Rok recognized that his word was his greatest asset and all BMO companies continue to operate under that premise. Through ethical actions and credibility established by the ability to look others directly in the eye, Natan Rok became the single largest property owner in Downtown Miami. Profits were reinvested in the firm because Natan Rok did not work for himself, his intent was building something for his family, something of which they could be proud and also be secure in their future. His emphasis on the firm being a family was quickly spread throughout the community. His honesty and ethics were well respected and employees soon began to treat him like the patriarch of a large extended family. PAPI NATAN became so familiar in Miami that many people were unaware that this enigmatic man was Natan Rok. PAPI NATAN passed away in June 2004. He is sorely missed by colleagues, friends and family, but his legacy is very much alive in all of our hearts and his soul is evident in the behavior of all employees working for us.
